I would like to thank the person who invented the baby swing.
Really.
They are my hero.
I know, I know...letting P sleep in the swing is probably the worst thing I could do. It surely makes me a bad mom, I'll likely regret it and will have a terrible time breaking her from it...yadda, yadda, yadda. Today, I do not care.
And I probably won't care tomorrow, either, just in case you wondered. Next month I might care but I'll reserve my judgment til then.
For the past few days, Preslie has taken to napping in the swing and she'll sleep for 2 HOURS in the swing as opposed to 30 minutes in the crib. Let me ask you: Wouldn't you gladly use the swing, too, if you hadn't had more than a couple of hours of sleep a night in nearly 2 months? Wouldn't you do it to give your poor, overworked boobs a break, even if it was 'wrong'? Wouldn't you give in to the power of the swing in order to get a little cat nap or take a shower or do the laundry that is threatening to overtake the house?
Well, even if you wouldn't, I certainly would. And did. And will likely continue to do. Rest is a precious commodity around here these days and we're taking it where we can get it...even if it is while swingin'.
Oh, and a big 'THANKS!" to you who commented about my BFing neurosis. :) We're still working through things and your encouragement and advice are so appreciated! I'll keep you updated on how that's going. For now, I'm going to continue taking advantage of the swinging sleepy time now and get some stuff done before my house falls down around me. :) Til we talk again...

Girl, please. There is NOTHING wrong with her snoozing during the day in her swing. It makes sense that for 9 months she slept while you moved around and lulled her to sleep.
Swings are a lifesaver. And you don't have to worry about "breaking" her from it b/c soon she'll be too big to sit in it so you have no choice:) And by then she won't need the stimulation to fall asleep. She'll be too tired from all the sitting up and crawling around she'll be doing!
I have a book (recommended by my pediatrician and written by a pediatrician) that says under 4 months old let them sleep wherever they will sleep! (I just read the sleep chapter!) At 4 months they should be able to soothe themselves and then worry about a bedtime place and routine. I know books don't always pertain to real life but this part sounded legit to me! Good luck and get that sleep however the two of you can! We let Baby Girl sleep in her bouncer chair a lot with the vibration on - i fear I am scrambling her brains (not really, but you know)! :p
I would totally let her sleep there, and not just cause she is so darn cute while she does it. :) Do what works for you mommy. If Jack will only sleep in the swing I bet you can geuss where he will be then. :) don't sweat it, some day she will grow out of this and will be sleeping in a crib instead.
Maybe it's wrong but it feels so right! I don't think you should worry about what anyone else thinks or feels, sweetie! You have to do what works for you. So glad you're managing to have at least a little time to rest/do things you need to get done!
Just wanted to check in and see that you and P are doing just fine- you must be very busy right?!
