Hey, Friends! It's me...the Absentee Blogger. Sorry for the radio silence. We've been pretty busy this past week and when we haven't been, to be honest, I just haven't felt like writing. I've got some bluesy funk (and not of the hip musical kind) going on right now (which is probably PMS related...oh, joy.) and I just don't seem to have it in me when I need to. Thus the title of this post. :)
I should have written that last week was good. We had our 'normal' pajama/laundry/be lazy day on Monday. Pres really loves it because one of her favorite things to do is play in the clothes and pretend to 'fold' them. She is such a joy, especially in the small, 'everyday' things like that. I don't think that we had a bad moment all day. Awesome!
I should have written that Tuesday was pretty monumental in its own way, too. We went visiting at my grandparents house in the morning which was fun, as usual. My Mamaw has baby dolls and stuffed animals that the kiddos are allowed to play with but this week she had a sweet surprise (at least for me!). She found the baby dolls that my cousins and I played with when we were little...and all their clothes and blankets and pillows and such. What fun memories! It was so sweet to see my baby girl playing with the same dolls that I once played with. To top off an already fun visit, PJ even took a 2 hour nap(!!!) in my Papaw's lap. UN-HEARD-OF. Seriously, seriously monumental, at least in this household! :) My only regret is that my camera was at home and my phone battery was all-but-dead so I didn't get a picture of the sweet 'napping miracle'.
I should have written that Wednesday was filled with errands and shopping and more visiting with Mike's family. It was fun-filled and tiring, all at once. Preslie had just about become comfortable with most of the new faces that were around...just in time for them to head home. Oh, well. ;) I probably should have written that I'm glad that our routine will be back to 'normal' (ha!!) since they've gone home.
I should have written that we spent Thursday with my cousin, doing what we like to do best...shopping. Mike and I had hoped to have a date night Saturday night (more on that later), so I was using some Christmas gift cards to shop for a new shirt or something. I found something that I liked and it didn't even hurt my bank account since I had the gift cards. That's my kind of shopping! ;) I should have written how we finished the day visiting with my sister and her boyfriend and how we had a big, loud, actually-fun-with-no-one-arguing family dinner.
I should have written that we kept Sweet A on Friday and that PJ seriously loves her. She is so sweet to her and really enjoys talking to her and showing her toys and books and such. She dances for her and sings to her and tries to feed her her baby doll's bottles. ;) It's too cute...until it's not. Whenever Sweet A has had enough, she's got no problem letting me know! What a set of lungs!! I probably should have written that Friday seemed to start my 'funk', so I don't think I fully appreciated much of anything that went on that day, up to and including dinner with the in-laws.
There are LOTS of other things that I should have written about, too: our weekend, my current weight loss journey (9 lbs. gone!), my super huge argument with Mike, how Date Night was an abysmal failure...not to mention all the doubts and fears and insecurities that have seemed to plague me in the past few days. But there's always the next post, right? ;) And never fear, there will be a 'next post'. There is entirely too much floating around in my head for there not to be...but nap time is over and I can hear my little monkey stirring.
Hope you all had a great weekend and that you were able to get around to posting what you should have written, too! :)
